This month, Kennedys Accountants are launching the ‘Giving Back Project‘ giving us the opportunity to focus on a charitable organisation from a selection requested by our team members.

We will aim to bring more awareness, support, financial donations & education for these incredibly well deserving and invaluable organisations each month.
So to kick off the Kennedys Giving Back Project, we are starting with a fantastic charity that has been requested by our lovely team member, Meg Lang – FightMND

FightMND was established with the purpose of finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Motor Neurone Disease. There is currently no truly effective treatment and no known cure so this is why we fight MND.

What FightMND has done since 2014 is be the voice, and the guiding star for Australians who want to fight ‘The Beast’. The horrible and debilitating disease gradually takes away the patient’s use of their arms and legs, their ability to eat and swallow, their speech and ultimately their ability to breathe…all in an average timeframe of just 27 months.

What is MND?
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is the name given to a group of diseases in which the nerve cells (neurones) controlling the muscles that enable us to move around, speak, swallow and breathe fail to work normally and eventually die. With no nerves to activate them the muscles gradually weaken and waste. There is currently no truly effective treatment and no known cure so this is why we fight MND.

Where do the funds go?

FightMND is committed to ensuring that Australians diagnosed with the disease can live as independently as possible, for as long as possible.

Caring for and improving the lives of the 2,000 Australians currently living with MND is one of FightMND’s key priorities. It is these Australians, and those who have lost their battle to the Beast, that they continue fight for.

Thanks to the support of the FightMND Army, they have been the single largest funder of vital new assistive equipment for people living with MND in Australia since 2017.

In 2021, FightMND committed a further $2.3 million towards state-based MND organisations to enable the purchase of essential care equipment such as mobility, communication and respiratory support devices for people living with MND.

This takes FightMND’s investment in care equipment to $6.9 million since 2017.
The FightMND Care initiative funds vital assistive equipment to help improve the lives of Australians living with MND. Their aim is to provide equitable access to equipment for all Australians living with MND around the country.

All statistics and information about FightMND has been sourced directly from

Keep an eye on our platforms over the month of July as we bring more awareness, facts & education about FightMND and Motor Neurone Disease.
As well as supporting & raising awareness for FightMND, Kennedys will also be making a financial contribution this month to help the funding they so desperately need in order to find a treatment & cure.

Follow Kennedys Accountants on our platforms and help share the word & spread awareness about this horrible disease and hopefully all together, we can FightMND and WIN!
